Artfully Artless Craft is a manifestation of both my personal and creative interests. Everybody asks me what the name means, and I never really have a sufficient answer - it is just the alias I have used for every website and login. I found it funny, because I am anything but Artless. So in my search for a proper name, I temporarily stuck with my alias, and haven't brought myself to change it since. That was years ago now.

The shop is based around a natural sense, with many different types of art (crochet, traditional printmaking, paintings, drawings, jewelry and accessories) often featuring bones and taxidermy-inspired pieces. The supplies to make these pieces are gathered from the already dead; scavenged from the sides of the road or the depths of the forest. I search wherever I can. The idea is to honour the dead - and to allow nothing to go to waste. I process these animals and bones, and ship small tokens across the world, where they become more than just waste on the curb: their lives are remembered.

This brain child has been up and running for nearly five years now, and I have since brought in other makers of a similar theme - independent artists who deserve to have their pieces showcased. -Amanda West
